Marcus Hilliard charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcus Hilliard the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Longview Heights FC booed when Skyhawk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Hilliard didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leif Clifford had several of the Longview Heights FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 10 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Theo Acuna as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Leif Clifford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 19 played minutes Longview Heights FC got a freekick which was hit by Alistair Andrade. In the 23rd minute, Geoff Askew got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Geoff Askew blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aurelio Dent having to make a save. The supporters of Skyhawk FC booed when Longview Heights FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mason Franklin didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leif Clifford in the 33rd minute of play forced Longview Heights FC's goalkeeper Theo Acuna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 3-0 became the score in the 35th minute when Bruce Craft elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Mason Franklin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aurelio Dent read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Skyhawk FC's zone, Mason Franklin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aurelio Dent came out of the goal and Mason Franklin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leif Clifford to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Mason Franklin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Dent saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 55 minutes into the game, Skyhawk FC's Bruce Craft nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Theo Acuna made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Aurelio Dent made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mason Franklin in the 58th minute. If Mason Franklin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute, Longview Heights FC's Mason Franklin ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aurelio Dent. Aurelio Dent yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. After 66 minutes, Alistair Andrade mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Longview Heights FC and the Skyhawk FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 66th match minute, Longview Heights FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alistair Andrade to maneuver through the defense. When Leif Clifford fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Skyhawk FC's protests and gave Leif Clifford a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Skyhawk FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Leif Clifford hit a great ball. When Leif Clifford came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Skyhawk FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leif Clifford couldn't finish the play. Bruce Craft received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Theo Acuna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruce Craft sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elliot Bernard's late challenge caught a Skyhawk FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elliot Bernard helped the player get up and apologised. After 86 played minutes Longview Heights FC got a freekick which was hit by Elliot Bernard. Geoff Askew sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Theo Acuna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruce Craft in the 96th minute of play. Skyhawk FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
