After a rather tough play, Cookeville's Romeo Hutchinson got a free kick in the 25th minute. When Rodney Tuttle fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cookeville's protests and gave Rodney Tuttle a yellow card for diving instead. Rodney Tuttle kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Cookeville's Antonio Blair played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by DeAndre Goff in the 40th minute of play. In the 40th minute, DeAndre Goff made a precise shot to the right of Antonio Blair. Cookeville's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. When Reed Zamora came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Christopher fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reed Zamora couldn't finish the play. Adolfo Ng kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The tension between the Christopher and the Cookeville players grew even worse after the yellow card. 90 minutes into the match, Cookeville's goal looked a bit too open when Reed Zamora came free, but Antonio Blair reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th minute, Reed Zamora fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Many of Christopher's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Christopher may have spent more time on the ball, but Cookeville were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
