The Cookeville fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Cookeville's Antonio Blair played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Freddie Plummer in the 15th minute of play. Freddie Plummer struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Antonio Blair didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fishers. 24 minutes into the game, Freddie Plummer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fishers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cookeville the free kick. A collision led to Fishers getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Freddie Plummer hit a great ball. Cookeville's Antonio Blair played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bobby Pendleton in the 26th minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Rickie Rowland notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Cookeville's Antonio Blair. Antonio Blair was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jessie McManus in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antonio Blair prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 42 minutes into the match, Jessie McManus had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Antonio Blair. Cookeville's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jessie McManus was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. The supporters of Fishers booed when Cookeville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rupert Caballero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Murray Knapp made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Jessie McManus dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Antonio Blair, 1-5. Freddie Plummer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Antonio Blair made a huge save. If Jessie McManus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cookeville's Murray Knapp got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Freddie Plummer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Cookeville's zone, Jessie McManus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antonio Blair came out of the goal and Jessie McManus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rickie Rowland's late challenge caught a Cookeville's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rickie Rowland helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th minute, Rickie Rowland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Murray Knapp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Freddie Plummer came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Fishers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Freddie Plummer couldn't finish the play. Jayson Henderson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Scott Gallo having to interfere. Fishers played a much better game than Cookeville and deserved their victory. The Cookeville players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
