Spectators: 7700 (Terracing: 5776, Seating: 1771, VIP seats: 153) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Reginald Tackett started the match with the kick off. Jacques Wagner didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geoffrey Thacker went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Lonnie Medina came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Atletico Nacional's Freddy Hill. But to his dismay, Freddy Hill quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Freddy Hill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Lonnie Medina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 21 minutes, Geoffrey Thacker made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Atletico Nacional's Jacques Wagner tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 24th minute Geoffrey Thacker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacques Wagner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reginald Tackett in the 30th minute of play forced Sauk Rapids AFC's goalkeeper Lonnie Medina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Freddy Hill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Sauk Rapids AFC's Kip Gould got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Reginald Tackett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lonnie Medina having to interfere. Quincy Lemon hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After 42 minutes of play, Atletico Nacional's Freddy Hill made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lonnie Medina was left in no man's land by his defense there! Freddy Hill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Lonnie Medina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rolf Bonds to make the kick off. Tommie Woodard kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Reginald Tackett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 62 minutes, Reginald Tackett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atletico Nacional's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reginald Tackett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Freddy Hill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lonnie Medina having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Reginald Tackett left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atletico Nacional fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Jacques Wagner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geoffrey Thacker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Freddy Hill's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lonnie Medina read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Atletico Nacional's Oliver Dyer got a free kick in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarrett Negron in the 90th minute of play forced Atletico Nacional's goalkeeper Jacques Wagner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico Nacional's zone, Geoffrey Thacker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacques Wagner came out of the goal and Geoffrey Thacker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Rolf Bonds had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atletico Nacional's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
