With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacques Wagner prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Craig Goodson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacques Wagner made an important save on a dangerous shot by Craig Goodson in the 15th minute. After 16 minutes, Oliver Dyer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atletico Nacional and the Central Malaver players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 16 played minutes Atletico Nacional got a freekick which was hit by Oliver Dyer. Atletico Nacional's Jacques Wagner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carl Guillory in the 19th minute of play. Craig Goodson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Jacques Wagner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Atletico Nacional's Dirk Lowe got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute of the match Marlon McIntosh sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jacques Wagner skillfully saved the ball. Oliver Dyer got his second yellow card in the match during the 32nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 33 played minutes Atletico Nacional got a freekick which was hit by Oliver Dyer. Central Malaver's Craig Goodson got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Craig Goodson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Jacques Wagner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Atletico Nacional were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Alfonso Bond kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Freddy Hill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Freddy Hill came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Atletico Nacional fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Freddy Hill couldn't finish the play. If Ben Cabrera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freddy Hill recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the match, Atletico Nacional's goal looked a bit too open when Craig Goodson came free, but Jacques Wagner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacques Wagner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Craig Goodson in the 92nd minute of the match. When German Wilkerson fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atletico Nacional's protests and gave German Wilkerson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 93rd match minute, Atletico Nacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by German Wilkerson to maneuver through the defense. Jacques Wagner didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carl Guillory went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Atletico Nacional walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
