After 4th play minutes Wally Coats shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Lonnie Medina and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wally Coats in the 9th minute of play forced Sauk Rapids AFC's goalkeeper Lonnie Medina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of FLORIDA FC booed when Sauk Rapids AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quincy Lemon didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Rolf Bonds had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Von Jewell. FLORIDA FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rolf Bonds was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The audience was convinced that Geoffrey Thacker's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Von Jewell was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. After 18 played minutes FLORIDA FC got a freekick which was hit by Florian Kerns. Von Jewell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geoffrey Thacker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alejandro Fuentes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Lonnie Medina made a huge save. In the 29th minute Wally Coats shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lonnie Medina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Joel Herrera fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sauk Rapids AFC's protests and gave Joel Herrera a yellow card for diving instead. Lonnie Medina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alejandro Fuentes, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Geoffrey Thacker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Von Jewell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rolf Bonds made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rolf Bonds in the 52nd minute of play forced FLORIDA FC's goalkeeper Von Jewell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alejandro Fuentes took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lonnie Medina. Lonnie Medina dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Wally Coats sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 68 minutes into the match, Sauk Rapids AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Wally Coats came free, but Lonnie Medina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Von Jewell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Geoffrey Thacker in the 71st minute. Edgar Dodson charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edgar Dodson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Sauk Rapids AFC booed when FLORIDA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgar Dodson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Von Jewell came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Sauk Rapids AFC's Geoffrey Thacker. But to his dismay, Geoffrey Thacker quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. After having played for 87 minutes, Wally Coats managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FLORIDA FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wally Coats was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rolf Bonds struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Von Jewell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sauk Rapids AFC. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sauk Rapids AFC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
