But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carl Guillory couldn't finish the play. Brant Benson hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carl Guillory in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rashad Jacob prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 9 minutes, Craig Goodson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Central Malaver's supporters crossed their fingers, but Craig Goodson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carl Guillory recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Central Malaver's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Rudy Altman scored to the left of an out of position Alistair Rasmussen, making the score, 1-0. The supporters of Linden United booed when Central Malaver was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tad Becker didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rene Barrow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alistair Rasmussen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rudy Altman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alistair Rasmussen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rudy Altman in the 32nd minute of the match. Alfonso Bond sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Alistair Rasmussen managed to avoid a goal in the 37thth minute, when Linden United's Rene Barrow fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Rashad Jacob showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carl Guillory in the 42nd minute of the match. Craig Goodson struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Rashad Jacob didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Central Malaver. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carl Guillory to strike the kick off in the second half. Rashad Jacob acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 52nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Tad Becker. After having played for 54 minutes, Rene Barrow managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Linden United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rene Barrow was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rudy Altman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alistair Rasmussen having to interfere. If Rudy Altman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rashad Jacob made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carl Guillory in the 72nd minute of play. Sheldon Brown's late challenge caught a Linden United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sheldon Brown helped the player get up and apologised. Teddy Seals took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 74th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alistair Rasmussen. Central Malaver's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Maurice Chadwick kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute Rudy Altman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alistair Rasmussen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfonso Bond kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Maurice Chadwick hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute, Teddy Seals sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Central Malaver's Alistair Rasmussen didn't even have to move. If Rudy Altman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
