The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, FC Hatboro's Jarod Vick got control of the ball when Rene Barrow tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rudy Altman succeeded in the game's 4th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in FC Hatboro's zone, Rene Barrow stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jarod Vick came out of the goal and Rene Barrow tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Rudy Altman came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Linden United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rudy Altman couldn't finish the play. Abraham Andrews received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Rashad Jacob tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rashad Jacob took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claude Swift, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Houston Ibarra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abraham Andrews stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rashad Jacob stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abraham Andrews's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Abraham Andrews fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rashad Jacob having to interfere. FC Hatboro's Jarod Vick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rudy Altman in the 59th minute of play. Rudy Altman might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jarod Vick. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rudy Altman ran back to his position shaking his head. Jarod Vick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rene Barrow, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Kristofer Herrera charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kristofer Herrera the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 63rd minute, Kristofer Herrera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Linden United booed when FC Hatboro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Son Sams didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abraham Andrews sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Claude Swift managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Hatboro's supporters rose to their feet, but Claude Swift was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rashad Jacob breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 77th minute, Claude Swift fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Rashad Jacob, passed just outside the right post. Claude Swift received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Rashad Jacob tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
