Vincenzo Alexander was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Salvador Gustafson in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacques Wagner prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Atletico Nacional's Rob Maloney got a free kick in the 28th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Freddy Hill got free with Vincenzo Alexander in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico Nacional's zone, Salvador Gustafson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacques Wagner came out of the goal and Salvador Gustafson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Florian Vela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Jacques Wagner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Atletico Nacional booed when BrkBcgn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salvador Gustafson didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Freddy Hill couldn't finish the play. When Atletico Nacional's Reginald Tackett in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye BrkBcgn's goalie prevented a goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Reginald Tackett stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes BrkBcgn got a freekick which was hit by Reuben Potter. Freddy Hill recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Salvador Gustafson managed to get in a good position for a shot.
