If Johnnie McCullough had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 23 minutes, Carlos Cooke made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Malibu City AFC's Jake Cash tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Johnnie McCullough had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrew Whittaker could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Jesse Sylvester made a huge save. The Malibu City AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Calhoun Falls were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Johnnie McCullough stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Andrew Whittaker made a precise shot to the right of Jesse Sylvester. Calhoun Falls's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After 59 minutes, Scot Jolly mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Malibu City AFC and the Calhoun Falls players grew even worse after the yellow card. Scot Jolly hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the match, Malibu City AFC's goalkeeper Jake Cash had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stan Barker. Jake Cash showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Cooke in the 78th minute of the match. Calhoun Falls's Carlos Cooke got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guillermo Bonds during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Malibu City AFC booed when Calhoun Falls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Bonds didn't get a good kick on the ball. Malibu City AFC's Johnnie McCullough got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Freddy Bynum could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Jake Cash made a huge save. When Carlos Cooke came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Calhoun Falls fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Cooke couldn't finish the play. Calhoun Falls played a much better game than Malibu City AFC and deserved their victory. The Malibu City AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
