Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Stan Barker made the kick off which started today's match. The supporters of STL City FC booed when Calhoun Falls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Bonds didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jesse Sylvester made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Ty Taylor sent off a good shot on target. Freddy Bynum took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jay Burkett. Jay Burkett dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Glen Duarte blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jesse Sylvester having to make a save. Jesse Sylvester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glen Duarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jay Burkett didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Stan Barker went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Calhoun Falls's Jesse Sylvester got control of the ball when Glen Duarte tried to sneak it across the goal line. Reynaldo Sorenson kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Reynaldo Sorenson kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Jesse Sylvester was a little too slow when Glen Duarte got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 37th minute. The score was now 1-2. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Reynaldo Sorenson took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Jesse Sylvester to make any attempt to save it. 46 minutes into the match, Stan Barker notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of STL City FC's Jay Burkett. Jay Burkett was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The STL City FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Calhoun Falls were winning 2-3.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Glen Duarte to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vern Chester in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jesse Sylvester saved Calhoun Falls from getting behind. Jesse Sylvester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Glen Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 57th minute, Freddy Bynum reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jay Burkett. The goal made the score 2-4. After 63 played minutes STL City FC got a freekick which was hit by Ty Taylor. When STL City FC's Glen Duarte in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Calhoun Falls's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stan Barker got free with Jay Burkett in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 73 minutes into the match, STL City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Freddy Bynum came free, but Jay Burkett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in STL City FC's zone, Carlos Cooke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jay Burkett came out of the goal and Carlos Cooke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 76 minutes into the game, Freddy Bynum recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jay Burkett. Freddy Bynum showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-5. 80 minutes into the match, STL City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Freddy Bynum came free, but Jay Burkett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. STL City FC's Jay Burkett proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save STL City FC from getting a goal against them. Jesse Sylvester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silas Alvaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Calhoun Falls defense, Reynaldo Sorenson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jesse Sylvester. The Calhoun Falls fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jesse Sylvester should have stopped the shot. STL City FC's Jay Burkett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Freddy Bynum in the 90th minute of play. Jay Burkett made an important save on a dangerous shot by Freddy Bynum in the 92nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Calhoun Falls's Carlos Cooke slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jay Burkett. That made the score 3-6 after 93 minutes of play. The Calhoun Falls players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
