The supporters of FC Midway booed when Buna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristopher Layton didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 5th minute, Hank Swain got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 7 played minutes FC Midway got a freekick which was hit by Stan Gipson. FC Midway's Jermaine Ludwig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wally Wilkins in the 9th minute of play. If Wally Wilkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 14 minutes into the game, Tom Tobin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jermaine Ludwig was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Buna getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Kristopher Layton hit a great ball. After 26 minutes, Del Medina mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Midway and the Buna players grew even worse after the yellow card. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tom Tobin to make the kick off. Jermaine Ludwig stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tom Tobin's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Buna's Bryan Magee suffered a concussion in the 78th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Stan Gipson fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Midway's protests and gave Stan Gipson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 80th minute, Stan Gipson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute, Tom Tobin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tommie Dillard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Scotty Rasmussen having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Buna's zone, Tommie Dillard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Scotty Rasmussen came out of the goal and Tommie Dillard tried to chip the ball over his head.
