The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 35 minutes into the game, one of Arsenal Imitation F.C.:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Curtis Alexander had in the 38thth minute some difficulties stopping Harvey Brown's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Arsenal Imitation F.C.'s Nick Woodall got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Arsenal Imitation F.C. defense, Hans Albright kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Curtis Alexander. The Arsenal Imitation F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Curtis Alexander should have stopped the shot. After the first half Scottsdale FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Orlando Ziegler got in the 74th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Curtis Alexander handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Curtis Alexander had great luck who in the 81stth minute grab hold of the ball when Hans Albright from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. If Hans Albright had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
