Buna were furious when Fletcher Finney was red carded, 7 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Fletcher Finney kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. After having played for 8 minutes, Harvey Brown managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Scottsdale FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harvey Brown was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joseph Barnhart didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tom Tobin went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Wally Wilkins struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Joseph Barnhart didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buna. Joseph Barnhart took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tom Tobin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joseph Barnhart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tom Tobin in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th match minute, Buna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tom Tobin to maneuver through the defense. Tom Tobin stood ready after the free kick and tried to head the ball into the goal, but got pushed from behind by one of Scottsdale FC's defenders and the ball went out. Buna appealed in vain for a penalty, the referee looked over at the linesman, but the flag stayed down. No Penalty. In the 23rd minute, Orlando Ziegler ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Scotty Rasmussen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Tom Tobin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joseph Barnhart having to make a save. Buna were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Scottsdale FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rene Riddle took the corner. The corner led to Buna's Casper Humphrey getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Scotty Rasmussen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Orlando Ziegler in the 40th minute. Joseph Barnhart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Riddle in the 41st minute of play. Orlando Ziegler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Scotty Rasmussen having to interfere.

The wind increased when Hans Albright made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes in the game, Bryan Magee fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Joseph Barnhart having to interfere. Scotty Rasmussen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rashad Cotton in the 66th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the game, Jimmy Law was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Buna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Scottsdale FC the free kick. Tom Tobin took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joseph Barnhart. Joseph Barnhart dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 80th minute, Kristopher Layton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Scottsdale FC booed when Buna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristopher Layton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tom Tobin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Joseph Barnhart tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bryan Magee got free with Joseph Barnhart in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
