Spectators: 5060 (Terracing: 4020, Seating: 1020, VIP seats: 20) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Nick Hagen took the kick off in the first half of the match. Alvin Fitzpatrick came out of the goal in the 2nd minute to try and stop a shot by Buna's Rene Riddle. But to his dismay, Rene Riddle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Wally Wilkins hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. 8 minutes into the match, Buna's goal looked a bit too open when Nick Hagen came free, but Scotty Rasmussen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th match minute, Buna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wally Wilkins to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nick Hagen in the 12th minute of play forced Buna's goalkeeper Scotty Rasmussen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bryan Magee recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Curt Rosenberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Wally Wilkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 27th match minute, Buna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Collin Bonds to maneuver through the defense. When Tom Tobin came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Buna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tom Tobin couldn't finish the play. Bryan Magee's late challenge caught a Portland Timbers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bryan Magee helped the player get up and apologised. In the 38th minute, Bryan Magee hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 41 minutes into the game, Allen Cain cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Scotty Rasmussen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

Scotty Rasmussen made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Nick Hagen sent off a good shot on target. Tom Tobin struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Alvin Fitzpatrick didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buna. In the 75th minute, Tom Tobin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alvin Fitzpatrick was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. After 83 minutes of play, Buna's Tom Tobin made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alvin Fitzpatrick was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alvin Fitzpatrick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Riddle in the 94th minute of play. Buna were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Portland Timbers for a fine match.
