Spectators: 7757 (Terracing: 5820, Seating: 1783, VIP seats: 154) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Darryl Ellison made the kick off which started today's match. Elliott Stapleton came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ahamdullilah's Darryl Ellison. But to his dismay, Darryl Ellison quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ollie Goode received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Ricky Gray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ollie Goode recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Vern DeJesus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Glen Ellyn's supporters rose to their feet, but Vern DeJesus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricky Gray breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th minute, Emery Brandt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ahamdullilah fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Ollie Goode received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Ricky Gray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute Ollie Goode suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Guy Young charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guy Young the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Glen Ellyn booed when Ahamdullilah was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guy Young didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Glen Ellyn's zone, Emery Brandt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elliott Stapleton came out of the goal and Emery Brandt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bernie Saucedo made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 35thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Ricky Gray would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vern DeJesus got free with Ricky Gray in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bernie Saucedo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Ricky Gray made a huge save. In the 40th minute, Vern DeJesus made a precise shot to the right of Ricky Gray. Ahamdullilah's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Elliott Stapleton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emery Brandt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Glen Ellyn players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ahamdullilah were winning 1-2.

After a defensive mix-up in Glen Ellyn's zone, Emery Brandt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elliott Stapleton came out of the goal and Emery Brandt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emery Brandt's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 57thth minute, Elliott Stapleton skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 60 played minutes Glen Ellyn got a freekick which was hit by Bernie Saucedo. Bernie Saucedo struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Ricky Gray didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Glen Ellyn. Vern DeJesus's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricky Gray read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Bernie Saucedo struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Ricky Gray didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Glen Ellyn. The referee felt a red card was in order, 67 minutes into the game, when Blair Levy put in a rough tackle. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Glen Ellyn! The goalkeeper, Elliott Stapleton, was totally fooled by Ahamdullilah's Dustin Tipton, who 69 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Vern DeJesus struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Ricky Gray didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Glen Ellyn. If Darryl Ellison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Ahamdullilah's Emery Brandt slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Elliott Stapleton. That made the score 1-4 after 80 minutes of play. Anders Ersman kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. After having played for 85 minutes, Vern DeJesus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glen Ellyn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vern DeJesus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vern DeJesus's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricky Gray read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Vern DeJesus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Ricky Gray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Emery Brandt made a precise shot to the right of Elliott Stapleton. Glen Ellyn's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. In the 94th minute Darryl Ellison shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elliott Stapleton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chants of Ahamdullilah echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Glen Ellyn had held the ball for most of the match.
