Spectators: 6777 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1777, VIP seats: 0) Rory Carrington started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Vern Chapman came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Fénix's Adrian Bustamante. But to his dismay, Adrian Bustamante quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Conrad McDonald hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute, Ken Forrest ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Johnathon Guillory was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Forrest Swift managed to get in a good position for a shot. SL FIRES's supporters rose to their feet, but Forrest Swift was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johnathon Guillory breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rory Carrington received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Johnathon Guillory came out and tried to block the shot, but Rory Carrington slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 12th minute. After 23 played minutes SL FIRES got a freekick which was hit by Anson Bush. Raul Mosher took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 23rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vern Chapman. SL FIRES's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A throw-in in the 27th minute of the game was made by Ricardo Shannon with Craig Pereira as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. When Ken Forrest came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the SL FIRES fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ken Forrest couldn't finish the play. Fénix's Johnathon Guillory played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rory Carrington in the 31st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julio Newsome in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vern Chapman saved SL FIRES from getting behind. Julio Newsome's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vern Chapman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. If J.P. Haley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raul Mosher during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The long shot by Ricardo Shannon in the 44th minute really tested Johnathon Guillory's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. With an all-out effort, SL FIRES's Johnathon Guillory threw himself towards the right post 46 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rory Carrington, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julio Newsome was the one to do the kick off. Julio Newsome recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 59th minute Rory Carrington shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnathon Guillory saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of SL FIRES booed when Fénix was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Mosher didn't get a good kick on the ball. Blake Armstrong kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Shannon in the 65th minute of play forced Fénix's goalkeeper Johnathon Guillory to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. J.P. Haley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vern Chapman having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Stanford Albright made a precise shot to the right of Johnathon Guillory. Fénix's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. When Conrad McDonald was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 77 minutes had been played. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ken Forrest in the 79th minute of play forced Fénix's goalkeeper Johnathon Guillory to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. J.P. Haley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Newsome's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 84thth minute, Vern Chapman skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. SL FIRES walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
