An unexpectedly hard shot by Steven Dale in the 21st minute of play forced Rocky Ford's goalkeeper Nathaniel Randolph to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Rocky Ford's Berry Horner got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Johnathon McDonough in the 26thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sylvester Singleton, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a defensive mix-up in Horus's zone, Deon Hawthorne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sylvester Singleton came out of the goal and Deon Hawthorne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Deon Hawthorne made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Johnathon McDonough in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sylvester Singleton saved Horus from getting behind. Deon Hawthorne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute.
