Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dana Marcus started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Randy Frost got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Marlboro's zone, Dana Marcus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ned Goddard came out of the goal and Dana Marcus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Randy Frost received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Ned Goddard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 10 minutes into the game, Leif Dooley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marlboro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Annapolis United FC the free kick. In the 10th match minute, Marlboro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leif Dooley to maneuver through the defense. Jeramy Goode came out of the goal and Ralph Noble tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marlboro's Sanford Gutierrez got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Ralph Noble, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 22 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Jeramy Goode was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Ned Goddard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Randy Frost in the 27th minute of play. After 32 played minutes Annapolis United FC got a freekick which was hit by Donny Prince. Jeramy Goode took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ralph Noble, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Annapolis United FC's Jeramy Goode played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ralph Noble in the 38th minute of play. After 43 minutes, D.J. Benjamin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Marlboro and the Annapolis United FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 43 played minutes Marlboro got a freekick which was hit by D.J. Benjamin. 45 minutes into the match, Annapolis United FC's Randy Frost sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ned Goddard narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Donny Prince fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ned Goddard having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ralph Noble to make the kick off. Ralph Noble's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jeramy Goode read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. When Donny Prince fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Annapolis United FC's protests and gave Donny Prince a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Annapolis United FC's Donny Prince got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 54th minute, Guillermo Witt sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Annapolis United FC's Jeramy Goode didn't even have to move. The supporters of Marlboro booed when Annapolis United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Hammer didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute, Dante Zaragoza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marlboro's Guillermo Witt got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ned Goddard came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Annapolis United FC's Randy Frost. But to his dismay, Randy Frost quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Annapolis United FC's Oren Kincaid got a free kick in the 71st minute. 74 minutes into the game, Oren Kincaid was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Annapolis United FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marlboro the free kick. Oren Kincaid didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Sanford Gutierrez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jeramy Goode. Annapolis United FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sanford Gutierrez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 90th minute, Sanford Gutierrez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
