The crowd rose to their feet as Javier Vance kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Raymond Barrios. That made the score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. When Clearwater's Foster Dickerson in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atlanta Vikings's goalie prevented a goal. Foster Dickerson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shane Owen having to interfere. If Clay Farr had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeremiah Lambert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Raymond Barrios tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The wind increased when Foster Dickerson made the kick off in the second half. Clearwater's Foster Dickerson got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Clearwater's zone, Jeremiah Lambert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raymond Barrios came out of the goal and Jeremiah Lambert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Clay Farr sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Shane Owen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Foster Dickerson in the 59th minute of play. When Jake Lynn fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlanta Vikings's protests and gave Jake Lynn a yellow card for diving instead. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atlanta Vikings's goalkeeper Shane Owen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Clearwater's Raymond Barrios played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Javier Vance in the 66th minute of play. Jeremiah Lambert struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Raymond Barrios didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlanta Vikings. If Foster Dickerson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Javier Vance blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Raymond Barrios having to make a save. In the 81st minute Foster Dickerson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shane Owen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Atlanta Vikings's goalkeeper Shane Owen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Shane Owen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Atlanta Vikings had won after a very even match.
