The referee showed Oliver Villalobos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Gate City FC booed when South River was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oliver Villalobos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brady Gorman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Domenico Clearwater tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Charles Hansen hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind South River's goalkeeper Domenico Clearwater, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, South River's Jayson Cahill got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 22nd minute of the match Dean Stockton sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Domenico Clearwater skillfully saved the ball. Domenico Clearwater stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sung Uhl's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Brady Gorman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. South River's Cobi Morton got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lucien Meyers to make the kick off. Domenico Clearwater showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sung Uhl in the 54th minute of the match. Brady Gorman might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Domenico Clearwater. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brady Gorman ran back to his position shaking his head. Domenico Clearwater showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brady Gorman, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Lucien Meyers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 72 minutes of play, South River's Cobi Morton made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jarod Lind was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sung Uhl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. After 96 played minutes, South River's Rodger Ayala shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jarod Lind came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in South River reached it. The South River players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Gate City FC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
