The referee ignored Steger AFC's protests and gave Jermaine Faulkner a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th match minute, Steger AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jermaine Faulkner to maneuver through the defense. 7 minutes into the match, Wild FC's Marc Carter broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Milo Nickerson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 21 minutes into the match, Steger AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Timmy Seymour came free, but Gerardo Shields reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gerardo Shields showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milo Nickerson, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Timmy Seymour received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Gerardo Shields tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stevie Yu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renato McLain in the 39th minute of play. Milo Nickerson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot 47 in the game by Timmy Seymour from a close distance when the talented Gerardo Shields managed to make a qualified save. Steger AFC's players were relieved.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Milo Nickerson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gerardo Shields took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timmy Seymour, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Milo Nickerson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gerardo Shields made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milo Nickerson in the 58th minute of play. Wiley Burns could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Stevie Yu made a huge save. When Jarvis Enriquez fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. In the 62nd match minute, Wild FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarvis Enriquez to maneuver through the defense. If Renato McLain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wild FC's Stevie Yu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renato McLain in the 67th minute of play. Ferdinand Deal hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. A collision led to Steger AFC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Wiley Burns hit a great ball. Renato McLain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Renato McLain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stevie Yu having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Milo Nickerson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gerardo Shields was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. In the 88th match minute, Steger AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Glen Jorgensen to maneuver through the defense. If Timmy Seymour had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
