In the 11th minute, one of Steger AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Steger AFC. Steger AFC's Gerardo Shields proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Steger AFC from getting a goal against them. Geoffrey Parrish fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Shields having to interfere. Gerardo Shields was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Willard Rollins. Steger AFC's Gerardo Shields played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Roberts in the 28th minute of play. Simon Roberts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Gerardo Shields tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Steger AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 32nd minute, when Simon Roberts scored to the left of an out of position Gerardo Shields, making the score, 2-0. 46 minutes into the match, Sacachispas's goal looked a bit too open when Renato McLain came free, but Eldon Dennis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Renato McLain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Eldon Dennis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Simon Roberts stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Steger AFC defense, Simon Roberts kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gerardo Shields. The Steger AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gerardo Shields should have stopped the shot. 66 minutes into the match, Sacachispas's goal looked a bit too open when Renato McLain came free, but Eldon Dennis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute Simon Roberts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerardo Shields saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Sacachispas's Simon Roberts sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gerardo Shields narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gerardo Shields showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simon Roberts, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Geoffrey Parrish struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Gerardo Shields didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sacachispas. Wiley Burns fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eldon Dennis having to interfere. Steger AFC's Wiley Burns got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wiley Burns got free with Eldon Dennis in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 94th minute, Glen Jorgensen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Steger AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
