Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Renato McLain started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After having played for 4 minutes, Javier Mercer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hartwell FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Javier Mercer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 5 minutes into the game, Denis Leon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Gerardo Shields was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Steger AFC's Renato McLain in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hartwell FC's goalie prevented a goal. The audience was convinced that Renato McLain's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Toby Worthington was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Toby Worthington made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renato McLain in the 22nd minute of play. Renato McLain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Toby Worthington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Hartwell FC's Denis Leon in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Steger AFC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 27th minute, Glen Jorgensen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Denis Leon came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Hartwell FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denis Leon couldn't finish the play. After 31 minutes, Freddy Tapia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hartwell FC and the Steger AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Toby Worthington was a little too slow when Renato McLain got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 2-1. In the 37th minute, Jermaine Faulkner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 38th minute, Rudolph McClain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Hartwell FC's zone, Wiley Burns stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toby Worthington came out of the goal and Wiley Burns tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Denis Leon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Renato McLain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Toby Worthington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Renato McLain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wiley Burns in the 59th minute of play forced Hartwell FC's goalkeeper Toby Worthington to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Renato McLain charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Renato McLain the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Javier Mercer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Gerardo Shields tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 66 minutes, Francisco Murdock mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Steger AFC and the Hartwell FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Steger AFC's Francisco Murdock got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 68th minute, Javier Mercer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gerardo Shields was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. If Javier Mercer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Denis Leon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Shields having to interfere. Gerardo Shields made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Javier Mercer sent off a good shot on target. Ben Naylor hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Moses Hanley didn't quite understand what happened when in the 78 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Denis Leon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Steger AFC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Glen Jorgensen hit a great ball. Denis Leon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Gerardo Shields tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wiley Burns sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 89 minutes into the game, Conrad McClure was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hartwell FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Steger AFC the free kick. The supporters of Steger AFC booed when Hartwell FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrad McClure didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wiley Burns sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Toby Worthington took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renato McLain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
