After 6 played minutes Sacachispas got a freekick which was hit by Rueben Turner. Renato McLain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eldon Dennis having to interfere. A collision led to Sacachispas getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Rueben Turner hit a great ball. In the 19th match minute, Steger AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Glen Jorgensen to maneuver through the defense. 22 minutes into the match, Sacachispas's Geoffrey Parrish sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gerardo Shields narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Simon Roberts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Steger AFC defense, Geoffrey Parrish kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gerardo Shields. The Steger AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gerardo Shields should have stopped the shot. 43 minutes into the match, Steger AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Geoffrey Parrish came free, but Gerardo Shields reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Simon Roberts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute Simon Roberts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerardo Shields saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Titus Gaston recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Simon Roberts to strike the kick off in the second half. Wiley Burns struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Eldon Dennis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Steger AFC. Eldon Dennis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renato McLain in the 62nd minute of play. Eldon Dennis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renato McLain in the 65th minute of the match. Rueben Turner hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. 67 minutes into the match, Wiley Burns had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eldon Dennis. Sacachispas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wiley Burns was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a rather tough play, Steger AFC's Colin Fish got a free kick in the 74th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Geoffrey Parrish managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sacachispas's supporters rose to their feet, but Geoffrey Parrish was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerardo Shields breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wiley Burns sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wiley Burns received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Eldon Dennis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eldon Dennis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renato McLain in the 87th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the match, Sacachispas's goal looked a bit too open when Wiley Burns came free, but Eldon Dennis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sacachispas's Eldon Dennis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wiley Burns in the 89th minute of play. Eldon Dennis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wiley Burns, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sacachispas walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
