One of HBG Knoxville:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Corydon:s goal. The referee gave Corydon a penalty, 4 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Art Butler, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of HBG Knoxville's Landon London. 0-1. Abraham Witherspoon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cliff Guzman having to interfere. Cliff Guzman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jefferson Cesario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cliff Guzman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abraham Witherspoon in the 12th minute. A collision led to Corydon getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Aquilino Kimetz hit a great ball. Corydon's Cliff Guzman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Corydon from getting a goal against them. 23 minutes into the match, Corydon's Dwight Payton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Landon London narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Art Butler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corydon's supporters rose to their feet, but Art Butler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Landon London breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abraham Witherspoon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dwight Payton's late challenge caught a HBG Knoxville's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Corydon's Dwight Payton got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dwight Payton couldn't finish the play. After the first half Corydon were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Art Butler made the kick off in the second half. Jefferson Myrick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 57 minutes of play, HBG Knoxville's Abraham Witherspoon made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cliff Guzman was left in no man's land by his defense there! Landon London showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dwight Payton in the 66th minute of the match. In the 67th minute of the match, Jefferson Myrick got a very nice opportunity to score, but Landon London was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Cliff Guzman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jefferson Cesario, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 73rd minute of the match Pat Fenton shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cliff Guzman showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Jefferson Cesario notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Corydon's Cliff Guzman. Cliff Guzman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind HBG Knoxville's goalkeeper Landon London, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Art Butler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute Abraham Witherspoon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cliff Guzman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Aquilino Kimetz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Landon London. HBG Knoxville's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aquilino Kimetz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3.
