Arturo Powell struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Dustin Rojas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Spartak NY. Bradley Curran could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Lucien Rhodes made a huge save. In the 12th match minute, INTER MIAMI CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tracy Lee to maneuver through the defense. 15 minutes into the match, Rhett Kiser notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Spartak NY's Lucien Rhodes. Lucien Rhodes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 17 played minutes Spartak NY got a freekick which was hit by Donny Hager. In the 18th minute of the match, Rhett Kiser got a very nice opportunity to score, but Lucien Rhodes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nathanial Shipp in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lucien Rhodes saved Spartak NY from getting behind. If Rhett Kiser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rhett Kiser fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucien Rhodes having to interfere. Nathanial Shipp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lucien Rhodes made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Rhett Kiser sent off a good shot on target. Donny Hager's late challenge caught a INTER MIAMI CF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Donny Hager helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Spartak NY's Donny Hager got a free kick in the 37th minute. Rhett Kiser struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Lucien Rhodes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for INTER MIAMI CF. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gerald McMullen to strike the kick off in the second half. After 57 minutes, Arturo Powell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Spartak NY and the INTER MIAMI CF players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Spartak NY getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Arturo Powell hit a great ball. When Bradley Curran fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored INTER MIAMI CF's protests and gave Bradley Curran a yellow card for diving instead. Bradley Curran hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the match, Spartak NY's goal looked a bit too open when Nathanial Shipp came free, but Lucien Rhodes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucien Rhodes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rhett Kiser, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tyson Stahl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th match minute, Spartak NY was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donny Hager to maneuver through the defense. During the 80th minute of the match Bradley Curran completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Bradley Curran a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Spartak NY booed when INTER MIAMI CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradley Curran didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rhett Kiser sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lucien Rhodes came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by INTER MIAMI CF's Alistair Schmitz. But to his dismay, Alistair Schmitz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Rhett Kiser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Lucien Rhodes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Casper Shaver kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. INTER MIAMI CF's Alistair Schmitz got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
