The Spartak NY fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lucien Rhodes should have stopped the shot. Ted Pereira kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute Reinaldo Stanton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucien Rhodes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reinaldo Stanton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Shawnee AFC's Rudolph Lusk got control of the ball when Tyson Stahl tried to sneak it across the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Elias Jaramillo got free with Lucien Rhodes in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 71st minute, Gerald McMullen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rudolph Lusk was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Leonard Roy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Lucien Rhodes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gerald McMullen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rudolph Lusk having to make a save. Reinaldo Stanton's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 86thth minute, Lucien Rhodes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Reinaldo Stanton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Reinaldo Stanton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shawnee AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Reinaldo Stanton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lucien Rhodes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Shawnee AFC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
