He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Armona reached it. 11 minutes into the match, Armona's goal looked a bit too open when Mickey Romano came free, but Emmitt Myers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rex Levine in the 13th minute of play forced Ossian AFC's goalkeeper Douglass Meyer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 16 minutes, Alex Barrow mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Armona and the Ossian AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Armona getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Alex Barrow hit a great ball. Sherman Abernathy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Armona's Sherman Abernathy got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th minute Sherman Abernathy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglass Meyer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mickey Romano in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emmitt Myers saved Armona from getting behind. Douglass Meyer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rex Levine in the 41st minute of play. Douglass Meyer was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mickey Romano was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Darin Mims during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Douglass Meyer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Douglass Meyer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rex Levine in the 65th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Armona's Rex Levine slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Douglass Meyer. That made the score 0-3 after 85 minutes of play. When Darin Mims was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 88 minutes had been played. Rex Levine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
