Willie Reilly tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Wood River FC's Ken Fair slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Donnie Orlinsky. That made the score 1-0 after 7 minutes of play. In the 16th minute, Darryl Pereira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Giuseppe Jenkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Darryl Pereira made a precise shot to the right of Willie Reilly. Wood River FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Jesse Vogel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Giuseppe Jenkins managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wood River FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Giuseppe Jenkins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donnie Orlinsky breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Giuseppe Jenkins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donnie Orlinsky having to interfere. A collision led to Wood River FC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Carl Sosa hit a great ball. 40 minutes into the match, Buitres F.C.'s Darryl Pereira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Willie Reilly narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wood River FC's Willie Reilly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pascal Simpson in the 41st minute of play. Pascal Simpson struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Willie Reilly didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buitres F.C.. Willie Reilly made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darryl Pereira in the 47th minute of play.

Donnie Orlinsky showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jesse Vogel, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. When Giuseppe Jenkins came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Wood River FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giuseppe Jenkins couldn't finish the play. Giuseppe Jenkins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donnie Orlinsky read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. 72 minutes into the game, Giuseppe Jenkins cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Donnie Orlinsky was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rod Frank's late challenge caught a Wood River FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rod Frank helped the player get up and apologised. Rod Frank kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Buitres F.C.'s Donnie Orlinsky played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giuseppe Jenkins in the 88th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pascal Simpson got free with Willie Reilly in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Pascal Simpson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
