Vaughn Bateman did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-2 to the left of a surprised Waldo Durham 52 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind The Wick Team's goalkeeper Alexander Hutchison, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to The Wick Team getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Todd Babcock hit a great ball. Alexander Hutchison showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sonny Morris in the 66th minute of the match. South Whittier's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rodrick Flynn in the 68th minute. Rodrick Flynn made a great header on South Whittier's corner, it was just that The Wick Team's Alexander Hutchison managed to reach the ball for a save. Sonny Morris recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to The Wick Team getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Sandy Sims hit a great ball. Waldo Durham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Todd Babcock in the 77th minute of the match. Jeremiah Redd charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jeremiah Redd the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 87th minute, South Whittier's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Vaughn Bateman fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Vaughn Bateman managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Wick Team's supporters rose to their feet, but Vaughn Bateman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waldo Durham breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 94th minute, Todd Babcock got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 95th minute, Adolfo Walter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. South Whittier's Waldo Durham proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save South Whittier from getting a goal against them. The South Whittier supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching The Wick Team's performance. The match ended with a win for The Wick Team.
