Rusty Lowery showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cason James, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 34thth minute of the game Ferdinand Winston who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chicago Red Bandits FC's Rusty Lowery was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 34 played minutes Chicago Red Bandits FC got a freekick which was hit by Gerry Fitzgerald. Rusty Lowery took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cason James, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cason James's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rusty Lowery read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Gerry Fitzgerald blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Albert Fink having to make a save. The supporters of Lindenhurst Hurricanes booed when Chicago Red Bandits FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Scott Doyle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cason James took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rusty Lowery. Rusty Lowery dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1.
