In the 10th minute, Rusty Fletcher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 11 minutes into the match, Tommy Holt sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Derek Arias threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Tommy Holt this time. 21 minutes into the match, Domingo Sosa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Derek Arias. Olathe Falcons's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Domingo Sosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnoldo Castillo in the 24th minute of play forced Olathe Falcons's goalkeeper Derek Arias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnoldo Castillo struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Derek Arias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Djurgårdens IF. Domingo Sosa made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 29thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Derek Arias would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Rusty Fletcher scored 1-2 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mohammed Altman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Derek Arias made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Domingo Sosa sent off a good shot on target. In the 63rd minute, Brent Alfaro fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Olathe Falcons's Rusty Fletcher got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Brent Alfaro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olathe Falcons's supporters rose to their feet, but Brent Alfaro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mohammed Altman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brent Alfaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Mohammed Altman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Shayne Rose had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Djurgårdens IF's zone, Brent Alfaro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mohammed Altman came out of the goal and Brent Alfaro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Olathe Falcons's goalkeeper Derek Arias, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Brent Alfaro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Djurgårdens IF's Arnoldo Castillo got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Antony Pickens managed to get in a good position for a shot. Djurgårdens IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Antony Pickens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Derek Arias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mohammed Altman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brent Alfaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
