In the 41st minute Ed Alfaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bennett Branch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ed Alfaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Ed Alfaro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bennett Branch was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. West Dundee played a much better game than Millvale and deserved their victory. The Millvale players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
