Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Donald Rodgers in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Royce Lugo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Royce Lugo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mervin LeBlanc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Marseill's goalkeeper Royce Lugo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Royce Lugo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mervin LeBlanc in the 25th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Marseill's zone, Donald Rodgers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Royce Lugo came out of the goal and Donald Rodgers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Royce Lugo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donald Rodgers in the 28th minute of play. Donald Rodgers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mervin LeBlanc struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Royce Lugo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wadena FC. If Donald Rodgers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Donald Rodgers was the one to do the kick off. In the 62nd minute of the match, Donald Rodgers tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Royce Lugo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Royce Lugo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Donald Rodgers went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Wadena FC's Mervin LeBlanc got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 73rd minute, one of Marseill:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Marseill. After having played for 81 minutes, Mervin LeBlanc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wadena FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mervin LeBlanc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Wadena FC's zone, Casey Hensley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marquis Tolbert came out of the goal and Casey Hensley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Donald Rodgers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Donald Rodgers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Royce Lugo having to interfere.
