In the 15th minute Kenny Spicer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santos Thurman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Oakley in the 30th minute of play forced Wellford AFC's goalkeeper Santos Thurman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santos Thurman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kenny Spicer went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Millvale's goalkeeper Bennett Branch, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 44th minute, Louie Mathis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

In the 78th minute, Edgar Oakley made a precise shot to the right of Santos Thurman. Wellford AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. 81 minutes into the match, Edgar Oakley had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Santos Thurman. Wellford AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgar Oakley was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. After a rather tough play, Millvale's Phillip Henson got a free kick in the 86th minute. Edgar Oakley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Santos Thurman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wellford AFC's Santos Thurman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Wellford AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 96th match minute, Wellford AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bryan Powers to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Millvale could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Wellford AFC throughout the match.
