Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Todd Carmona started the match with the kick off. After 3 minutes, Kelly Manuel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kinder and the Vernon Hills players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd minute, Kelly Manuel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Vernon Hills getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Tad Jamison hit a great ball. Kinder's Boyce Lacy pulled a muscle in his leg after 6 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Van Christian's late challenge caught a Kinder's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Van Christian helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Kinder booed when Vernon Hills was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Van Christian didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th minute Nathaniel Tucker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garth Eason saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sol Wilcox sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Desmond Huddleston stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Todd Carmona's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Desmond Huddleston made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Todd Carmona in the 14th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Vernon Hills's Wade Powell sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Desmond Huddleston narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Desmond Huddleston showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Todd Carmona, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Desmond Huddleston showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Todd Carmona in the 21st minute of the match. The supporters of Vernon Hills booed when Kinder was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sol Wilcox didn't get a good kick on the ball. Desmond Huddleston took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Todd Carmona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tad Jamison hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Sol Wilcox received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Garth Eason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sol Wilcox to strike the kick off in the second half. The attack was good, but when Todd Carmona in the 57th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Garth Eason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sol Wilcox, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Todd Carmona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Desmond Huddleston took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Todd Carmona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Vernon Hills's zone, Sol Wilcox stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Garth Eason came out of the goal and Sol Wilcox tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Kinder booed when Vernon Hills was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tad Jamison didn't get a good kick on the ball. Garth Eason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sol Wilcox in the 81st minute of play. Van Christian was shown his second yellow card after 82 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Van Christian hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Wade Powell kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Desmond Huddleston stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Todd Carmona's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Garth Eason took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sol Wilcox, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Vernon Hills defense, Sol Wilcox kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Garth Eason. The Vernon Hills fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Garth Eason should have stopped the shot.
