Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Nolan Oakes took the kick off in the first half of the match. Nolan Oakes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Anton Kauffman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Enoch Akins hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. 10 minutes into the match, Derrick Bernard sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Anton Kauffman threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Derrick Bernard this time. In the 14thth minute of the game Merle Scott who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Winnetka's Alfonzo Swenson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 15th minute, Casey Dill made a precise shot to the right of Alfonzo Swenson. Winnetka's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Merle Scott in the 18th minute of play forced Winnetka's goalkeeper Alfonzo Swenson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th match minute, Winnetka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cary Lofton to maneuver through the defense. 20 minutes into the match, Winnetka's goal looked a bit too open when Merle Scott came free, but Alfonzo Swenson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Winnetka's Alfonzo Swenson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Casey Dill in the 24th minute of play. The supporters of Port Vale FC booed when Winnetka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Derrick Bernard didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfonzo Swenson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Casey Dill, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. If Leonard Fitzgerald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anton Kauffman was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Leonard Fitzgerald capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Leonard Fitzgerald really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. If Nolan Oakes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Casey Dill to make the kick off. Alfonzo Swenson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Merle Scott in the 61st minute. Merle Scott could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Alfonzo Swenson made a huge save. In the 67th minute Leonard Fitzgerald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anton Kauffman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th match minute, Port Vale FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enoch Akins to maneuver through the defense. 69 minutes into the match, Nolan Oakes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anton Kauffman. Port Vale FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nolan Oakes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After 72 played minutes Winnetka got a freekick which was hit by Cary Lofton. Nolan Oakes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anton Kauffman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonard Fitzgerald in the 87th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Port Vale FC's Ernest Platt got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 91st minute, Enoch Akins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Port Vale FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
