Bill Cullen charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Ron Mallory's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ediberto Messias read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rickie Love made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Winchester's zone, Rickie Love stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jerrod Patel came out of the goal and Rickie Love tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adalberto Chin hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. A collision led to Holmes Beach getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Stacy Gold hit a great ball. In the 61st minute, Sam Bartlett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62nd minute, Ron Mallory got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Holmes Beach's Ediberto Messias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Tracy in the 63rd minute of play. Jerrod Patel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rickie Love went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. When Billy Reeves came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Holmes Beach fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Billy Reeves couldn't finish the play. Sam Bartlett kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Winchester players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Holmes Beach.
