Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Alfredo Draper got the match started through his kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cobi Wray during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Dearborn AFC booed when Brainerd FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cobi Wray didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elias Lockhart hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Alfredo Draper missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 11 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Alex Pearson right hand side. Lucas Vasquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Pearson having to interfere. Alex Pearson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Draper in the 15th minute of the match. Arnoldo Stahl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. David Fontenot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arnoldo Stahl received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. David Fontenot came out and tried to block the shot, but Arnoldo Stahl slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 18th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Shawn Diamond got free with David Fontenot in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jackson McGrath could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but David Fontenot made a huge save. When Arnoldo Stahl came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Brainerd FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnoldo Stahl couldn't finish the play. Cobi Wray recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 39th minute Arnoldo Stahl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Fontenot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Brainerd FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Cobi Wray hit a great ball. Dearborn AFC's Alfredo Draper couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 41st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Brainerd FC. Alfredo Draper fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Pearson having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Brainerd FC's Errol Harmon got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 47th minute of the match Heriberto Carter shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alex Pearson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arnoldo Stahl made a kick off. David Fontenot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shawn Diamond in the 62nd minute of play. 64 minutes into the game, Shawn Diamond cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. David Fontenot was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Russell Ziegler's late challenge caught a Brainerd FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Russell Ziegler helped the player get up and apologised. 68 minutes into the match, Dearborn AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Shawn Diamond came free, but David Fontenot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 70 minutes, Kurtis Dickey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dearborn AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kurtis Dickey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Russell Ziegler was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 72 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Dearborn AFC's Russell Ziegler got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Lucas Vasquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Alex Pearson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dearborn AFC's David Fontenot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shawn Diamond in the 79th minute of play. After some careless play in the Dearborn AFC defense, Cobi Wray kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of David Fontenot. The Dearborn AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that David Fontenot should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lucas Vasquez got free with Alex Pearson in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. David Fontenot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnoldo Stahl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brainerd FC's goalkeeper Alex Pearson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 95 played minutes Brainerd FC got a freekick which was hit by Cobi Wray. For all the effort they put into the match, the Dearborn AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Brainerd FC.
