The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. David Fontenot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roger Bonds in the 5th minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Raymundo Haas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfredo Draper walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 12thth minute of the game Roger Bonds who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dearborn AFC's David Fontenot was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Kurtis Dickey took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Jose Longoria to make any attempt to save it. In the 19thth minute of the game Roger Bonds who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dearborn AFC's David Fontenot was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jose Longoria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Draper, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute, Russell Ziegler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. David Fontenot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chu Mo Yong in the 24th minute of the match. Roger Bonds received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. David Fontenot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Dearborn AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Roger Bonds came free, but David Fontenot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 35 minutes of play, Cypress's Roger Bonds made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. David Fontenot was left in no man's land by his defense there! Chu Mo Yong might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over David Fontenot. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chu Mo Yong ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 40th minute, Chu Mo Yong made a precise shot to the right of David Fontenot. Dearborn AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roger Bonds to strike the kick off in the second half. Jose Longoria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Draper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 53rd match minute, Cypress was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Ibarra to maneuver through the defense. 59 minutes into the match, Chu Mo Yong notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Dearborn AFC's David Fontenot. David Fontenot was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 64th match minute, Dearborn AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Russell Ziegler to maneuver through the defense. Roger Bonds had several of the Dearborn AFC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 67 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-6 score and a disappointed David Fontenot as he didn't even see the shot coming. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chu Mo Yong in the 75th minute of play forced Dearborn AFC's goalkeeper David Fontenot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Dearborn AFC's goalkeeper David Fontenot had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roger Bonds. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chu Mo Yong in the 81st minute of play forced Dearborn AFC's goalkeeper David Fontenot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over Cypress could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Dearborn AFC throughout the match.
