Hank Melton charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hank Melton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Brookside's Hank Melton got a free kick in the 3rd minute. After some careless play in the Avra Valley defense, Damon Newsome kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Waylon Paris. The Avra Valley fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Waylon Paris should have stopped the shot. In the 17th minute, Elton Wall ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Harry Hopper was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Harry Hopper made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elton Wall in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute, Charlie McGinnis sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Brookside's Harry Hopper didn't even have to move. Werner Atkinson kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Harry Hopper made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Werner Atkinson sent off a good shot on target. In the 32nd minute, Brookside's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Stacey Montano fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With a little luck, Brookside's Harry Hopper got control of the ball when Elton Wall tried to sneak it across the goal line. Waylon Paris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joey Doud, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 38 minutes into the game, Ken Magee was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brookside's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Avra Valley the free kick. A collision led to Brookside getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Ken Magee hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Avra Valley's zone, Joey Doud stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waylon Paris came out of the goal and Joey Doud tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elton Wall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Harry Hopper tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damon Newsome in the 47th minute of play forced Avra Valley's goalkeeper Waylon Paris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Joey Doud made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elijah Parr during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Avra Valley's Eleuterio Arias was substituted for Stacey Montano. In the 58th match minute, Avra Valley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elijah Parr to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Elton Wall's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Harry Hopper was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Elton Wall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Harry Hopper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elton Wall in the 80th minute of the match. Elton Wall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Harry Hopper tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Joey Doud reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Waylon Paris. The goal made the score 1-2. Avra Valley's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Charlie McGinnis in the 96th minute. After taking down the ball on Avra Valley's corner Charlie McGinnis fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Harry Hopper quite easily take care of the ball. Brookside were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Avra Valley's much stronger midfield.
