In the 16th match minute, Brookside was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ken Magee to maneuver through the defense. Mark Watt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damon Newsome in the 22nd minute of the match. Vice Croydon AFC's Mark Watt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gordon Ybarra in the 33rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kurt Esposito got free with Harry Hopper in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mark Watt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gordon Ybarra went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joey Doud to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes Brookside got a freekick which was hit by Ken Magee. In the 61st minute, Kent Patrick made a precise shot to the right of Harry Hopper. Brookside's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. If Jess Hinkle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jess Hinkle struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Harry Hopper didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vice Croydon AFC. With a little luck, Vice Croydon AFC's Mark Watt got control of the ball when Gordon Ybarra tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 72 minutes, Jess Hinkle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vice Croydon AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jess Hinkle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gordon Ybarra got free with Mark Watt in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 84th minute, Brookside's Damon Newsome ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mark Watt. Mark Watt yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. 88 minutes into the match, Vice Croydon AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ken Magee came free, but Mark Watt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 94 minutes, Kurt Esposito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vice Croydon AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kurt Esposito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mark Watt was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ken Magee showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 95 minute of play. The Vice Croydon AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Brookside's performance. The match ended with a win for Brookside.
