Claudio Engel came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Melbourne's Warren Boles. But to his dismay, Warren Boles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Warren Boles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Claudio Engel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 91 minutes, Warren Boles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Melbourne's supporters crossed their fingers, but Warren Boles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Claudio Engel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Warren Boles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Melbourne manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing SCU Torreense to win.
