Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Stefan Keene started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Stefan Keene took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Vaughn Shipman to make any attempt to save it. Preston Myers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Vaughn Shipman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes into the game, Octavio Hightower was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Monessen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Racing de Carolina the free kick. After a rather tough play, Monessen's Octavio Hightower got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 22nd match minute, Monessen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claude Gordon to maneuver through the defense. When Claude Gordon got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Monessen. In the 34th minute, Marty Cegielski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Dalton Klein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vaughn Shipman made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Claude Gordon sent off a good shot on target. Racing de Carolina's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Stefan Keene 42 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. In the 46th match minute, Monessen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claude Gordon to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute, Octavio Hightower hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Octavio Hines stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Monessen getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Sterling Beltre hit a great ball. In the 60th match minute, Racing de Carolina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chad Poe to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claude Gordon in the 62nd minute of play forced Racing de Carolina's goalkeeper Vaughn Shipman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Racing de Carolina getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Omar Peoples hit a great ball. Marty Cegielski was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 71st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 73rdth minute of the game Claude Gordon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Racing de Carolina's Vaughn Shipman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Octavio Connors charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Octavio Connors the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Octavio Connors hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Tyrone Darling made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dalton Klein in the 80th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Octavio Connors got free with Tyrone Darling in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Racing de Carolina's zone, Claude Gordon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vaughn Shipman came out of the goal and Claude Gordon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vaughn Shipman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marty Cegielski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Stefan Keene's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vaughn Shipman was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. 100 minutes into the match, Racing de Carolina's goal looked a bit too open when Claude Gordon came free, but Vaughn Shipman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
