After 2 minutes, Kerry Middleton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mendenhall FC and the Racing de Carolina players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Mendenhall FC getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Kerry Middleton hit a great ball. Mendenhall FC were furious when Emery Nash was red carded, 7 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 6th minute of the game. One of Mendenhall FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Racing de Carolina:s goal. Weldon Hamlin shot the penalty kick right outside the post. If Octavio Hines had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Octavio Connors sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marlon Koenig could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Vaughn Shipman made a huge save. After 25 played minutes Racing de Carolina got a freekick which was hit by Dalton Klein. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octavio Connors in the 30th minute of play forced Mendenhall FC's goalkeeper Ivan Oberle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Octavio Hines to strike the kick off in the second half. Marlon Koenig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Octavio Connors fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Oberle having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Mendenhall FC's Bret Nickerson got a free kick in the 62nd minute. When Marlon Koenig fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mendenhall FC's protests and gave Marlon Koenig a yellow card for diving instead. In the 65th match minute, Mendenhall FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marlon Koenig to maneuver through the defense. Octavio Connors who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Ivan Oberle when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Octavio Connors received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Ivan Oberle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Racing de Carolina getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Brandon Gill hit a great ball. In the 86th minute, Everett Miner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Shane Haynes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanh Carrington charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thanh Carrington the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Mendenhall FC booed when Racing de Carolina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thanh Carrington didn't get a good kick on the ball. Racing de Carolina were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Mendenhall FC to leave the ground with a draw.
