Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Stefan Keene started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the match, Monessen's goal looked a bit too open when Ignacio MacKenzie came free, but Tyrone Darling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Monessen's Tyrone Darling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loren Rojas in the 4th minute of play. When American Canyon AFC's Terence Gil in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Monessen's goalie prevented a goal. Preston Myers charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Preston Myers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Monessen's Preston Myers got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 9th minute Terence Gil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tyrone Darling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of American Canyon AFC booed when Monessen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Preston Myers didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Loren Rojas managed to get in a good position for a shot. American Canyon AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Loren Rojas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tyrone Darling breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Todd Guinn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claude Gordon in the 13th minute. Loren Rojas took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tyrone Darling. Tyrone Darling dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Rey Diggs kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 18thth minute of the game Stefan Keene who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but American Canyon AFC's Todd Guinn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Todd Guinn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claude Gordon went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After 23 minutes, Sterling Beltre mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monessen and the American Canyon AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 24th minute, Sterling Beltre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Claude Gordon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rey Diggs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tyrone Darling having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Monessen's goal looked a bit too open when Terence Gil came free, but Tyrone Darling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claude Gordon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Todd Guinn made a huge save. Tyrone Darling made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Terence Gil in the 43rd minute of play. Terence Gil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Terence Gil was the one to do the kick off. Terence Gil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Keene in the 56th minute of play forced American Canyon AFC's goalkeeper Todd Guinn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Monessen defense, Terence Gil kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tyrone Darling. The Monessen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tyrone Darling should have stopped the shot. Claude Gordon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Todd Guinn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, American Canyon AFC's Ignacio MacKenzie got a free kick in the 67th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Claude Gordon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monessen's supporters rose to their feet, but Claude Gordon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Todd Guinn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Monessen's Stefan Keene got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 73rd minute, Claude Gordon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Todd Guinn was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Marty Cegielski struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Todd Guinn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monessen. Claude Gordon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Todd Guinn having to interfere. Ignacio MacKenzie was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 79th minute. American Canyon AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Theo Tipton during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to American Canyon AFC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Theo Tipton hit a great ball. Monessen were awarded a corner in the 83th minute after American Canyon AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marty Cegielski took the corner. Todd Guinn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefan Keene in the 88th minute of the match. If Claude Gordon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rey Diggs could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Tyrone Darling made a huge save. The American Canyon AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
