In the 14thth minute of the game Dane Fulton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Racing de Carolina's Vaughn Shipman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Racing de Carolina's zone, Fabian Murphy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vaughn Shipman came out of the goal and Fabian Murphy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 19 minutes into the game, Dane Fulton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Vaughn Shipman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vaughn Shipman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dane Fulton in the 22nd minute of play. If Octavio Hines had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Randall Bishop during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Randall Bishop kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Romeo Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Octavio Hines, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Racing de Carolina booed when Olivia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Randall Bishop didn't get a good kick on the ball. Racing de Carolina's Vaughn Shipman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dane Fulton in the 34th minute of play. In the 35th minute, Brandon Gill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Victor Doss took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vaughn Shipman. Racing de Carolina's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Dane Fulton might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vaughn Shipman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dane Fulton ran back to his position shaking his head. Alberto Gonzalez's late challenge caught a Olivia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alberto Gonzalez helped the player get up and apologised. The Racing de Carolina players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Olivia were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dane Fulton to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dane Fulton in the 54th minute of play forced Racing de Carolina's goalkeeper Vaughn Shipman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vaughn Shipman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dane Fulton in the 63rd minute of play. Fabian Murphy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Octavio Hines fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Racing de Carolina's protests and gave Octavio Hines a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Racing de Carolina getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Octavio Hines hit a great ball. Victor Doss recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fabian Murphy's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 80thth minute, Vaughn Shipman skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Romeo Ramos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chad Poe, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Fabian Murphy's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 86thth minute, Vaughn Shipman skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal.
