Todd Welsh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matthew Bagley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 9 played minutes New Ellenton got a freekick which was hit by Nathan Thomas. New Ellenton's Vaughn Watkins proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save New Ellenton from getting a goal against them. Bradly Ludwig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 15 minutes into the match, Redford's Merlin Cermak sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vaughn Watkins narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 17 minutes into the game, Cary Allen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Vaughn Watkins was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 19th minute, Myles Cano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cary Allen might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vaughn Watkins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cary Allen ran back to his position shaking his head. Redford's Todd Welsh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derrick Bullard in the 27th minute of play. If Merlin Cermak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Todd Welsh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ezra Anderson in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis Bowser in the 33rd minute of play forced Redford's goalkeeper Todd Welsh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute Matthew Bagley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Todd Welsh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ezra Anderson in the 42nd minute of play forced Redford's goalkeeper Todd Welsh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Derrick Bullard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Todd Welsh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Derrick Bullard made a precise shot to the right of Todd Welsh. Redford's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Matthew Bagley to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cary Allen in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vaughn Watkins saved New Ellenton from getting behind. 58 minutes into the game, Ezra Anderson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. New Ellenton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Redford the free kick. A collision led to New Ellenton getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Ezra Anderson hit a great ball. Todd Welsh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Bowser in the 61st minute of the match. In the 65thth minute of the game Cary Allen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but New Ellenton's Vaughn Watkins was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nathan Thomas during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nathan Thomas kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, New Ellenton's Nathan Thomas got a free kick in the 72nd minute. When Myles Cano fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Redford's protests and gave Myles Cano a yellow card for diving instead. In the 82nd minute, Cary Allen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vaughn Watkins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Merlin Cermak in the 84th minute of the match. Todd Welsh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ezra Anderson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Todd Welsh was a little too slow when Derrick Bullard got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 2-2. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
