Spectators: 7160 (Terracing: 5150, Seating: 1850, VIP seats: 160) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when J.P. Watkins took the kick off in the first half of the match. Teodoro Chang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Oswaldo Sutton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 12 minutes into the game, one of Cortland:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 14 minutes, Smithtown's Timmy Travis got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Greg Landis. Cortland's Greg Landis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Cortland from getting a goal against them. Cortland's Greg Landis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by J.P. Watkins in the 35th minute of play. When Mike Thorne fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cortland's protests and gave Mike Thorne a yellow card for diving instead. When J.P. Watkins came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Smithtown fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that J.P. Watkins couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Enoch Holliday made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joseph Cao Xiao during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 52 played minutes Smithtown got a freekick which was hit by Joseph Cao Xiao. J.P. Watkins might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Greg Landis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. J.P. Watkins ran back to his position shaking his head. Joseph Cao Xiao fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greg Landis having to interfere. Darin Dooley's late challenge caught a Cortland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Darin Dooley helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Smithtown getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Darin Dooley hit a great ball. J.P. Watkins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Greg Landis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Neal Jacobs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes into the match, Smithtown's goalkeeper Oswaldo Sutton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enoch Holliday. Laurence Zamora recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Timmy Travis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Greg Landis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joseph Cao Xiao recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by J.P. Watkins in the 86th minute of play forced Cortland's goalkeeper Greg Landis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oswaldo Sutton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enoch Holliday, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. A collision led to Cortland getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Laurence Zamora hit a great ball. Smithtown's defense didn't have a chance, in the 93rd minute, when Enoch Holliday scored to the left of an out of position Oswaldo Sutton, making the score, 1-2. Cortland's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
